Embassy of Japan - Pre-Election Survey & Report
On behalf of the Japanese Embassy, MD Niche carried out a comprehensive analysis of the scenario existing prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The exhaustive report was an attempt to understand the complex issues that would define the contest between major political parties. The Department of Urban Affairs (DUA), Government of Kerala, organised an investors’ meet in February 2014 with the objective of developing basic infrastructure in major cities through public-private partnership. The two-day ‘Partner Kerala’ Urban Development Meet was held at The Taj Gateway Hotel, Marine Drive in Kochi on February 24 and 25.
A flagship Global Connect programme of the Kerala government held in 2012, it was one of the most talked about events of the year in India. More than 4,500 delegates took part in the meet, including business representatives from 36 countries, heads of states, foreign dignitaries and global corporate leaders.
Coir Kerala is an annual international trade expo on coir and natural fibres conducted in February by Kerala's Department of Coir to strengthen the state's largest cottage industry. It is held in the coir industry heartland of Alappuzha and attracts hundreds of delegates for around India and abroad.

Grand Kerala Shopping Festival is an annual project of the Department of Tourism, organised in association with the departments of Industries & Commerce, Finance and Local Self Government with an objective of developing Kerala as a shopping destination.
Gender Park Launch of 'She Taxi'
She Taxi, India's first government-backed taxi service operated by women and for women, was launched in November 2013 in Thiruvanathapuram. She Taxi is a project initiated by Gender Park, an institution under the state's Department of Social Justice working for gender equity.
India's first national surfing competition, the Spice Coast Open, was held in Kovalam, Kerala from May 3-5, 2013. Organised by the Surfing Federation of India (SFI), the national governing body for the sport, with the support of Kerala Tourism, the event featured more than 100 Indian and foreign participants.
K K Sarachandra Bose's Bharat Yatra on Caste Eradication
NRI social activist K K Sarachandra Bose, an eminent corporate lawyer of international standing, took up a pioneering 50-day Bharat Yatra in June 2014 to spread his message against casteism. Dubai-based Bose had served a mandatory notice on the Government of India to eradicate the caste system by 2014.
