Research outcomes can be turned into ventures: KSUM-IEEE entrepreneurship workshop in November
Kochi / October 8, 2026
Kochi, Oct 8: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, with the support of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), will hold a two-day IEEE Entrepreneurship Workshop here on November 17 and 18, providing scientists and engineers an opportunity to turn research and technological innovations into successful business ventures.
The global training programme aims to provide practical guidance to researchers and engineers who wish to take their technological innovations beyond academic publications and bring them directly to the market.
The workshop has been designed as a fully interactive programme, featuring case studies and business pitches that can be presented before investors.
Over the two days, participants will gain practical knowledge required to successfully build a venture, including idea development, intellectual property protection, business model development, commercialisation strategies, legal and technical aspects, venture capital, seed and Series A funding, startup valuation, and negotiations between founders and investors.
Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare a business plan and present it before an investor panel, besides interacting with experts from the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Dr S. Raghu of ET Cube International, USA, and Dr Daniel Renner, of Atacama Lite, are the course directors.
Dr Bijoy A. Jose of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Dr Bala Peddigari of TCS, Hyderabad, and Dr K. R. Suresh Nair of Amara Raja Design Alpha will serve as the coordinators.
The programme is hosted by IEEE Kerala Section and IEEE Kochi Subsection in association with KSUM.
