Goethe -Zentrum to screen Axel Ranisch’s Reuber on Sept 30

Trivandrum / September 26, 2026

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 26: In a rare treat to movie lovers cutting across age-bar, Axel Ranisch’s Reuber, a German children’s film, will be screened at the German language and culture centre Goethe -Zentrum at Jawahar Nagar here at 6.30 pm on September 30.

The film has won accolades as an exciting cinematic experience that blends fairy-tale elements, humour and imagination narrating a story about courage, family and growing up.

Entry to the screening is free for public.

Reuber narrates the story of a whimsical Journey into the Woods. What begins as a simple childhood mistake soon turns into an unexpected adventure.

Directed by Axel Ranisch, Reuber also received appreciation for its spontaneous and highly improvised filmmaking approach. The film was developed and shot largely through improvisation, with the filmmakers discovering the story and scenes during their time in the Brandenburg forest.

Reuber offers audiences a distinctive German film experience, presenting childhood not simply as a time of innocence but as a world filled with imagination, fears, challenges and unexpected possibilities.

Reuber was produced in Germany in 2013 and premiered at the Munich Film Festival the same year. The film was later recognised with the Children’s Film Award “Rakete” at the Kinofest Lünen.
