Calicut IT Community Forms Human Chain at Government Cyberpark Against Drug Abuse

Kozhikode, Aug 13: In a solidarity with the state government’s anti-drug campaign, ‘Operation Toofan’, the IT community formed a human chain at Government Cyberpark in solidarity, bringing to the fore the urgent need to fight the scourge of drug addiction.  

The programme, led by the Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT), was organised in association with Government Cyberpark, UL Cyberpark and HiLite Business Park. More than 800 IT professionals took part in the campaign.

Kozhikode City Assistant Commissioner of Police P.C. Chacko formally inaugurated the human chain.

Government Cyberpark Chief Operating Officer Vivek Nair, UL Cyberpark Director Shijin Chelannur, CAFIT president Rifath Rahman, former presidents Abdul Gafoor K.V. and P.T. Haris, and members of the CAFIT governing body were among those present.

CAFIT president Rifath Rahman led the participants in taking an anti-drug pledge.

The programme conveyed the message, ‘No to Drugs, Yes to Life’, calling for collective action against drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.
