14th JPEF Global Diabetes Convention concludes with focus on scientific advances and emerging technologies in diabetes care

Thiruvananthapuram, July 12: The 14th Annual Global Diabetes Convention organised by Jothydev's Professional Education Forum (JPEF 2026) concluded at Kovalam after three days of deliberations on emerging technologies, scientific advancements and innovative approaches to improving diabetes care.

The convention explored how Kerala and India are adopting the latest trends in diabetes management while addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with these advances.

The event served as a key platform for sharing scientific evidence, clinical expertise and innovative ideas aimed at advancing diabetes care. The theme of this year's convention was "Helping You Choose the Best in Care."

Scientific sessions covered the latest developments in diabetes, obesity, cardiometabolic care, artificial intelligence, emerging therapies, medical innovations and diabetes technologies. Delegates also discussed the growing importance of obesity management as an integral part of diabetes treatment.

The three-day conference brought together leading healthcare professionals, physicians, researchers and healthcare innovators from India and abroad.

The convention, held from July 10 to 12, was led by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Organising Secretary of Jothydev's Professional Education Forum (JPEF) and Chairman and Managing Director of Jothydev's Diabetes Research Centre. The organising committee included Dr. Arun Shankar as Organising Chairman, Sunita Jothydev as Conference Chief Organiser and Director, Hariprasad as Convener, and Anjana Basanth as Scientific Coordinator.

Addressing the valedictory session, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev said JPEF 2026 has emerged as one of India's leading academic forums dedicated to improving diabetes care through cutting-edge science, hands-on practical workshops and collaborative learning, with the objective of improving outcomes for millions of people living with diabetes.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev presented awards to the winners of the scientific paper presentations held as part of the conference.

Out of 67 scientific abstracts submitted by researchers from institutions and medical colleges across India, three entries were recognised:

•             First Prize: Dr. Anand Raj (Chennai)

•             Second Prize (Joint): Shivani Paliwal (Chennai) and Ashwin Karuppan Vishwanathan (Chennai)

•             Third Prize: Shreya Sastha Kumar (Tirunelveli)

Awards were also presented for the scientific paper presentations, with the winners being:

•             First Prize: Aafrin Shabbir (Chennai)

•             Second Prize: Sumayya Beegum K.T. (Kozhikode)

•             Third Prize: Shivarama Paripoornan M. (Tirunelveli)
