Milma gets Spice Coast Excellence Award

Thiruvananthapuram, June 17: Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), one of India’s leading dairy cooperative networks known by brand Milma, has been bestowed with Spice Coast Excellence Award instituted by The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Altacit Global.

Milma was chosen for the award for the benchmark it has set in the dairy sector and significant impact the brand has created in the industry at large. The popular brand won the award in the Spice Coast Legacy Award category.

Milma Chairman Shri K S Mani received the honour at the Spice Coast Excellence Awards 2026 held on the sidelines of the Keralam Retail Conclave 2026 in Kochi recently.

Shri Valsalan Pillai C N, Chairman, Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU); Dr Sudhir Raja Raveendran, Founder, and CEO, Altacit Global; Ms Manju Ammanath, Associate Partner, Altacit Global; Ms Vinodini Sukumar, President, The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Shri Binu B Punnooran, Vice President, The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry, were also present.

Shri Mani, who also inaugurated the conclave, said Milma has set an ambitious target of Rs 10,000 crore turnover to be achieved by 2030-31. “This target can be achieved by strengthening Milma’s presence in domestic and international markets, besides leveraging the robust dairy sector of Kerala,” he said.

The Chairman said there was a huge opportunity for investment in the dairy sector of Kerala. “Though Kerala holds third position in milk productivity, almost half of the milk required for the state is fetched from other states. This provides scope for investment and expansion in the sector,” he observed.

Shri Mani informed that Milma clocked a turnover of Rs 4,344 crore during 2025-

26 and it has partnered with LuLu Group for ramping up presence in global arena.

“There are plans to expand Milma’s market through major e-commerce platforms across the country. Milma adopts the farmer-centric business model of directly disbursing the

83 percent of the milk sale price to the farmers,” he added.

Shri Mani also spoke at a session on ‘The Digital Evolution of India’s Consumer Economy’ held as part of the conclave.
