Children have a great time at ‘Kalapila’ summer camp
Camp to conclude tomorrow
Trivandrum / April 25, 2026
Thiruvananthapuram, April 25: After creatively engaging a large number of children in a range of activities for nearly a week, the third edition of Kalapila Summer Camp for school students will conclude at the Kerala Arts and Crafts Village at Vellar near Kovalam tomorrow (April 26).
A unique initiative aimed at fostering creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial mindset among children, the six-day camp is organized jointly by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and Kerala Arts and Crafts Village the Crafts Village.
The camping aged around 120 school children.
The Robotic Workshop, led by the KSUM-registered startup Unique World Robotics, turned out to be one of the most interesting events at the camp as it provided a broad overview to children of how this cutting-edge domain is going to define the future.
“This workshop took the children through the world of robotics and its increasing applications, giving them an idea of how innovation shapes science and technology in a lucid manner,” KSUM CEO Shri Anoop Ambika noted.
The camp also had a variety of activities such as craft workshops and performance of music, dance and Kalaripayattu. There were also sessions aimed at personality development through activities that creatively engaged the participants.
Apart from the sessions, a visit to the nearby Kovalam beach turned out to be an outing that children enjoyed very much, which also helped them realise the importance of keeping nature clean, green and sustainable.
The activities at the camp are designed to encourage the talent and skill of the children, said Shri T U Sreeprasad, Chief Operating Officer, Arts and Crafts Village.
KSUM, which was established in 2006 under the Kerala government, works for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
