Infopark Football Tournament kicked off

Kochi, Apr 25: The Infopark Football Tournament, featuring IT employees from Infopark, was inaugurated at the Thrikkakara BMC Sports football turf. The tournament was officially inaugurated by John Mathew, General Manager – Finance & Operations, Calpine Group.

Organised by Calpine Group in association with Infopark, the tournament aims to ease workplace stress in the IT sector while encouraging employees to showcase their football skills. Seven-a-side matches have been arranged for men, while five-a-side matches are being held for women.

A total of 10 matches were conducted on the opening day, marking an energetic start to the tournament.

The total prize pool is approximately ₹3 lakh. The league stage, which is the first phase of the tournament, is being held from April 24 to May 9 at the Thrikkakara BMC Football Turf. Following the league stage, knockout matches will take place from May 14 to May 23 at the United Sports Centre near the Infopark Expressway.

Matches are scheduled on both weekdays and weekends from 6 pm to 10 pm. Teams from various companies across Infopark’s Kochi Phase I and II, Thrissur, and Cherthala campuses are competing in the tournament.
