Kochi, Apr 12: Future Point Cabs, a CSR initiative by IBS Software that aims to empower women by providing training and employment opportunities to help them become professional taxi drivers, is completing its first year of operations.

Initially based in Kochi, it has emerged as an essential service with ten modern cabs, 25 skilled female drivers, and over 4,500 trips completed in its inaugural year.

Shri V K Mathews, the Founder and Executive Chairman of IBS Software, today announced plans to extend the cab services currently available at Infopark to a wider range of urban areas within the Kerala port city.

An additional cohort of 40 women drivers will be recruited in its first batch of this year and applications are being invited from women aged 21 to 45 to join this new training programme.

The training facility is conveniently located in Kakkanad, Ernakulam, and runs for two months. The entire training programme, including meals and resources, is offered free of charge.

Women with a valid four-wheel driver’s license will be given preference, although those without a license will also be considered.

Mr Mathews said the curriculum emphasises safe driving practices along with practical road experience.

“The initiative has become a sustainable model within Kerala's professional taxi industry, showcasing its potential for growth and replication in other regions,” he said.

“The strategic expansion addresses pervasive gender discrimination while enhancing women's self-esteem and providing them with employment and financial independence.”

Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact the programme directly at 8129902043 or via WhatsApp for more information.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certification recognising their achievements.

Drivers with exceptional performance will have the opportunity to earn a competitive monthly income of up to Rs 30,000, access to company-provided vehicles for their driving duties, and eligibility for various performance-based bonuses.

The pilot project has already demonstrated notable success, with services accessible through the user-friendly Futurepoint Cab app.

Future Point Cabs prioritises passenger safety and service quality, having served over 8,000 satisfied customers with a rating above 4.8.

In its first year, the service has covered 157,000 kilometres, showing strong demand and trust in this initiative.

Futurepoint Cabs stands out due to its comprehensive training programme. In addition to essential driving skills, it includes specialised training in hospitality etiquette, soft skills, vehicle maintenance, navigation, self-defence, and financial literacy.

This holistic approach equips women to provide a safe and professional travel experience for corporate clients and the public in Kochi.

This initiative highlights the significant impact of focused efforts on women's empowerment in the workforce.

Futurepoint Cabs is leading the way toward a more inclusive and equitable future in safe transportation.
