Oppam launches free therapy as US-Iran war raises anxiety

Kochi / March 12, 2026

Kochi, Mar 12: In response to growing anxiety among expatriate communities following the ongoing conflict in parts of West Asia, Kerala-based online mental health platform Oppam has announced a free psychological support initiative for Malayali and Tamil communities living across Middle East countries.

As tensions continue to escalate in the region, many expatriates are facing uncertainty, fear, and emotional distress. In a gesture of solidarity, Oppam has launched a no-cost online therapy programme aimed at providing immediate mental health support to those affected.

Individuals seeking assistance can book a free therapy session through the platform’s website at   https://www.oppam.com or contact +91 85909 25353.

The sessions will be conducted online, ensuring accessibility, privacy, and confidentiality for those in need during this challenging period.

Oppam was launched in 2023 in Kerala by Ebrahim Hawaz, Abdulla Kunhi, and Mubashira with the aim of making mental health support more accessible, particularly for people who struggle to find services in familiar languages.
The founders, who hail from Kasaragod, said the initiative was driven by concerns about the growing need for culturally and linguistically accessible psychological support. Many people, they noted, hesitate to seek mental health care due to stigma, lack of awareness, or the limited availability of services in their native languages.

Designed as a local language online therapy platform, Oppam seeks to provide psychological support that is inclusive, approachable, and available around the clock, enabling individuals from diverse backgrounds to access professional help anytime and from anywhere.
