KBF Film Festival Series Outreach in Thrissur from tomorrow

Thrissur, Feb 4: The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF), in collaboration with Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) and the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), will organise a Film Festival Series, Women’s Eras in Cinema (Cinemayude Penkalangal), on February 6 and 7 at Thrissur.
The Film Festival Series, to be held at KILA, is part of the KBF’s Outreach Programme titled Kala Kalaam, Kalapam (Art, Time, Conflict). It is curated by filmmaker-curator Keli Ramachandran as part of the ongoing Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB).
KILA Director-general Nizamudeen A will inaugurate the festival while its Assistant Director Dr Amrutha K P N will welcome the gathering at the inaugural ceremony from 3.30 pm to 4 pm.
KILA Registrar Sumesh K R will deliver the introductory address and Keli Ramachandran will give an overview of the programme. The two-day event will commence with registration from 3 pm to 3.30 pm on February 6.
This will be followed by a range of programmes. A seminar will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm. Asha Achy Joseph will present a paper on ‘Women and the Film Industry as Workplace’ and C S Meenakshi on ‘Musical Pathways’. Santhosh Kumar K C will moderate the session.
From 6.30 pm to 9 pm, Malayalam film B 32 Muthal 44 Vare will be screened followed by an interaction with its director Shruthi Sharanyam.
On the next day, a seminar will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm. Dr P Geetha will present a paper on ‘Women: On and Off the Silver Screen’ and Dr Vineetha M on ‘Women’s Relationships in Malayalam Cinema’. Dr. Amruthraj R M will moderate the session
From 6.30 pm to 9 pm, the film Victoria will be screened followed by an interaction with its director Shivaranjini.
The curtain will fall at 9 pm after a vote of thanks by Rismiya R I.
