Minister Veena George to inaugurate KSUM’s Women Startup Summit 4.0

Kochi, Sep 22: A two-day conclave aiming to promote female participation in entrepreneurship begins in the city tomorrow, with Health Minister Smt Veena George inaugurating the 2022 Women Startup Summit 4.0 this weekend after seven key sessions of the event on Friday.

Being organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), the first day’s proceedings on September 23 will be held at the nodal agency’s Technology Innovation Zone in Kalamassery while Marriot Hotel in Edappally is to host Saturday’s sessions. The speakers include founders and managing partners, predominantly women, of a range of successful companies.

Saturday’s inaugural ceremony will be attended, besides the Minister, by KSUM CEO Mr Anoop Ambika, actresses Remya Nambeesan and Aswathy Sreekanth and filmmaker Ratheena P.T. Overall, the summit will feature 30 live sessions and 80-plus speakers besides more than 500 delegates. The event, which will also host an expo of more than 100 products, will host master-classes, workshops, pitch fests, a ‘She Loves Tech’ and an Investor Café.

The first day of the summit will hold, besides She Loves Tech India ’22, a pitching session: on productization grant. The money will be for those Indian startups that have women holding more than half the ownership stake. The winners will get Rs 5 lakh, besides soft loans of Rs 15 lakh (6 per cent interest) and seed funds, organizers said.

The ‘She Loves Tech India’ will be addressed by the largest accelerator platform’s Co-founder Leanne Robers. The inaugural day of the summit will chiefly hold four panel discussions and three fireside chats.

The summit will host a panel discussion on ‘Exploring the Plethora of Opportunities and Support to Promote and Encourage Women Startups and Entrepreneurship’. The afternoon sessions will feature three workshops and a pitching under ‘Investor Café’, before a panel discussion (Smart Steps), followed by networking.

With the aim of giving women entrepreneurs an opportunity to up-skill and collaborate globally, the event will see leaders in “real action” from across the globe, organisers said.
