Kochi / January 31, 2026

Kochi, Jan 31: A group of 25 students from Fr. Agostino Vicini's Special School Mundamveli, a school for deaf children,  visited the Kochi Biennale. The students, accompanied by their teachers, explored the artworks on view across the Biennale venues. The initiative was supported by Ms. Maya, Managing Director of MIND EMPOWERED, along with the organisation’s members, who sponsored and facilitated the students’ visit.Deaf ex-students of the school also accompanied the group, taking part in the visit alongside current students.

"We visit the Biennale every year, and this year was no exception," said Sr. Deepa, Headmistress of Fr. Agostino Vicini's Special School. "The artworks exceeded our expectations - each piece was exceptional. Our deaf kids have lots of artistic talent, and after visiting, they get inspired and create their own artworks. We participate to nurture and encourage their skills."

The visit provided students with an opportunity to closely engage with installations, materials, and artistic narratives, helping them draw inspiration beyond the classroom.
