Talent pool, infrastructure scale-up propel Technopark Kollam

Kollam / January 23, 2026

Kollam, Jan 23: With multiple infrastructure projects underway, improved connectivity, and access to a strong talent pool, Technopark Phase V (Kollam)—India’s first lakeside IT park—is poised for a major leap as the lakefront campus.

Upcoming amenities, including an amphitheatre and a women’s hostel, are set to further enhance the campus’s live–work–play ecosystem. These facilities are expected to promote employee well-being, productivity, and talent retention within a scenic and environmentally sustainable setting. Construction of the women’s hostel and civil works for the open-air theatre are scheduled for completion by the end of February.

Established in 2015 as IT SEZ campus, Technopark Kollam is supported by robust infrastructure, including uninterrupted power and water supply, sewage treatment facilities, internal road networks, and high-speed data connectivity.

The campus benefits from a strong academic ecosystem, owing to its proximity to premier institutions such as TKM College of Engineering and College of Engineering Perumon, along with over a dozen engineering and professional colleges offering BTech and allied programmes. These institutions together produce thousands of industry-ready graduates each year.

Designed specifically to support small and mid-sized IT/ITeS firms, Technopark Phase V is positioned as Kerala’s next-generation IT hub. Set against the serene backdrop of Ashtamudi Lake, the LEED Gold-certified campus offers plug-and-play office spaces backed by a strong regional talent base.

Located at Kundara, about 15 km from Kollam town, Technopark Kollam redefines the traditional IT campus by combining high-productivity workspaces with a workcation-style environment. Envisioned as the Technopark Lakefront Integrated IT City, the campus enables scalable growth for startups and SMEs while being situated within a Ramsar-notified wetland landscape.

The master plan places strong emphasis on sustainability, recreation, and seamless business operations, making the campus attractive to domestic and global firms seeking cost-effective expansion beyond saturated metropolitan markets.

Immediate occupancy is available at the Ashtamudi Building, which offers approximately one lakh square feet of warm-shell and plug-and-play office space. The building features modular units ranging from 8 to 25 seats, enabling rapid onboarding for companies.

The campus also benefits from proximity to Technopark’s broader IT workforce of over 80,000 professionals, allowing companies access to skilled talent across software development, IT services, and emerging technologies.

With its strategic location, ready-to-occupy spaces, modern infrastructure, and rich talent ecosystem, Technopark Kollam is well positioned to emerge as a key driver of Kerala’s next phase of IT-led growth.
