Come together over a bowl: “We Are in a Soup” at Fort Kochi

Kochi, Jan 27:  ABC Art Room at Bastion Bungalow, Fort Kochi, is hosting ‘We Are in a Soup’, a unique participatory workshop that invites strangers to come together through food, making, and shared care as a way of being with one another. Facilitated by artist Avnit Singh, "We Are in a Soup" began on January 27 and continues today, January 28, as part of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.

Free and open to all, the participatory practice invites people to slow down, gather, and care through the shared acts of making, cooking, serving, and eating.

Participants will hand-build a simple clay bowl and bring one vegetable to contribute to a collective pot of soup. Blending food, memory, labour, and togetherness, the project transforms soup-making into a social portrait shaped by each individual’s presence.

No prior experience is required, but active participation is essential. The initiative creates a temporary common space rooted in attention, patience, and shared responsibility.
