Vadodara / January 27, 2026

Vadodara, Jan 27: Showcasing Kerala as a living mosaic of panoramic nature and eclectic culture, the state Tourism Department today opened its landmark all-India photo exhibition ‘Lenscape Kerala,’ featuring 100 curated frames by 10 leading travel and media photographers of the country.

After enthralling the viewers in New Delhi for four days from January 20, the exhibition will be on show at The Distillery, Alembic City from January 27 to January 29 from 11 to 7 PM.

Vadodara District Collector and District Magistrate Mr Anil Dhameliya, IAS, formally inaugurated the exhibition by lighting the lamp. Exhibition curator Smt Uma Nair led a walkthrough after the inauguration.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dhameliya said the people of Gujarat are lovers of travel and they topped the list of travellers to all states in the country. “Though many of us would have visited Kerala, what you see at the exhibition is a different perspective of places, people, rural and tribal life, wildlife and culture.”

A four-minute behind the scene video - Frame Within A Frame- was screened at the inaugural function.

A team of participating lensmen of Lenscape Kerala will conduct a masterclass on photography for the benefit of aspiring photographers from 2 pm on January 28.

“A moving platform that carries the land’s warmth across the country, Lenscape Kerala honours the state’s cultural diversity and pluralism, while serving as a way-finder for travellers to spot forests, hills, backwaters, places of worship and festivals that mark the state an experiential tourism destination of multiple choices,” Kerala Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas said in a message.

The exhibition is curated by eminent art curator and critic Smt Uma Nair. Renowned wildlife and conservation photographer Shri. Balan Madhavan is the Director of PhotographyMore than spotlighting Kerala as a destination, the exhibition captures vivid images of the state’s landscape, culture and memory, as seen by the participating photographers.

Each photographer had travelled through different landscapes of the state for five days as part of the project, covering a range of themes such as nature, wildlife, heritage, rural and coastal life, architecture, festivals and spirituality.

Besides its renewed focus on Kerala as a well-established destination that witnessed a further surge in footfalls in recent years, the exhibition brings to focus a wide range of sites and experiences that have largely remained unexplored.

Lenscape Kerala opens a trend-setting initiative at a time when travellers seek new, immersive and enriching experiences. By offering vivid glances into the diverse charms of God’s Own Country, the show will facilitate visitors to make their choice.

The show features photographs of Aishwarya Sridhar, Amit Pasricha, H Satish, Kounteya Sinha, Manoj Arora, Natasha Kartar Hemrajani, Saibal Das, Saurabh Chatterjee, Shivang Mehta and Umesh Gogna, shot during their sojourn in Kerala during November and December last year.

The exhibition will be touring Ahmedabad (Feb 3-5), Mumbai (Feb 12-14), Pune (Feb 18-20), Bengaluru (Feb 27-Mar1), Chennai (Mar 4-7), Hyderabad (Mar 12-14), Kolkata (Mar 22-24) and finally reaching Surat on March 29 and coming to a close on March 31.
