12 th Chuvadi Fest 2025 from Today (Sunday)

Kochi, Dec 27: The Kochi Biennale Foundation is organising the 12 th Chuvadi Fest 2025, a Chavittu Nadakam Festival, in collaboration with SAC Gothuruth from Sunday in SAC Maritime Art Centre, Chinna Thambi Annavi Square, Gothuruth at 7 pm. The three-day festival will end on December 30. The first edition of Chuvadi Fest was held in 2012 as part of the first edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
Chavittu Nadakam or stomp-theatre, an art form based on Biblical stories and practised by the Latin Catholic community in the Kollam-Chavakkad stretch, is the world’s only maritime theatre and a symbol of creolisation. Sports and ARTS Club (SAC), founded in 1913, has been instrumental in promoting Chavittu Natakam and other art formsand culture over the years. On Sunday, Ploripas Kathai directed by
Abhilash KM will be presented by Chavittu Nadaka Kalakendra, Gothuruth from 7.30 pm.
KMB President Bose Krishnamachari will be the Guest of Honour. On December 29, Panthiyos Pilathos directed by veteran Kalasree Brito Vincent will be presented by Cochin Chavittu Nadaka Kalari, Fort Kochi, from 8 pm.
On December 30, Vishudha Sebastianos directed by Roy Georgekutty will be staged by Yuva Kerala Chavittu Nataka Kalasamithi, Kurumbathuruth from 7.30 pm.
