KSUM CEO opens Makerspace at LBS Engg College

Kasaragod, Dec. 22: Kerala Startup Mission (KUM) CEO Shri Anoop Ambika today inaugurated Makerspace at L.B.S. College of Engineering here on the sidelines of the IEDC Summit 2025, organized by KSUM, on the campus.
The Makerspace was set up under the leadership of Entri App CEO Shri Mohammed Hisham, along with fellow alumni of the college.
The facility will provide guidance and mentorship by startup founders, who are the part of the alumni group, to budding entrepreneurs of the college, besides supporting them to emerge as successful businessmen.
In future, it will be extended to the alumni also, who are interested in setting up their own ventures.
Student innovators from across the state imparted dynamism to the 10th edition of IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) summit.
Edutech, AI solutions in limelight
The expo held as part of the event had innovative products and solutions on display in around 40 stalls. Thiruvananthapuram-based startup AJU ED Solutions showcased the prototype of a robotics AI-driven fire engine that will be rolled out soon.
The AI gizmo will sense fire in buildings and based on its intensity, it will start put out the blaze.
A biodegradable sanitary napkin made of bamboo, edutech apps for training and learning, gym management app and a tutor platform, Tuterra, developed by students and teachers of St. Thomas College of Ranni for providing one-to-one tuition for students were among the innovative products featured at the expo of the one-day summit.
