Prathidhwani Sevens Football: H&R Block lifts men’s, women’s trophies

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 28: The men’s and women’s team of H&R Block emerged winners in the ‘Raviz Prathidhwani Sevens-Season 8,’ the largest football tournament of the Kerala’s IT sector, organised by Prathidhwani, the welfare and recreation forum for IT employees at Technopark here.
The men’s team of H&R Block beat Envestnet team in the Prathidhwani7s finals held on Technopark Ground while the women’s team of H&R Block trounced Way.com in the fifth season of the 5s (five-a-side) women's football tournament finals held on the sidelines of ‘Raviz Prathidhwani Sevens-Season 8’.
The tourney was organised in collaboration with Yoode Promotions and Raviz Hotels. ‘Raviz Prathidhwani Sevens-Season 8’ is a football tournament in a seven-a-side format.
Infosys secured the third position in Prathidhwani7s finals beating Trenser and UST secured third place in the Prathidhwani5s finals against InApp, which won the Fair Play Award in the tournament. Trenser was chosen for this award in Prathidhwani7s tourney.
Vrinda Vineeth of H&R Block was adjudged Player of the Match in Prathidhwani5s finals while Roshan Robinson (H&R Block) won it in Prathidhwani7s finals.
Lalita Lama of Way.com and Nevin Charles (H&R Block) have been declared Players of the Tournament in Prathidhwani5s and Prathidhwani7s respectively. Sai Lakshmy S (UST) and Roby Fernandez (H&R Block) are the Best Goalkeepers in the tourney.
Jofin Jose (Envestnet) is the top scorer in the first phase of Prathidhwani7s while Rithik Krishna K (Infosys) is the top scorer in Champions Round. Gayathri R (Way.com) is the top scorer in Prathidhwani5s.
Popular Sevens football player Ashiq Usman and Asian gold medalist in Kabaddi Rosemary Presilla gave away the trophies to the winners.
The winners in the finals got a Rs 25,000 cash prize, an ever-rolling trophy and one-day accommodation at Raviz Ashtamudi Resort, Kollam. Besides, Raviz Hotels and Yoode Promotions also sponsored additional prizes for the winners. There were special prizes for the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
More than 2,500 IT employees and 101 teams from over 90 companies took part in the tourney, comprising 167 matches. Prathidhwani5s had around 14 teams, with 250-plus players from 14 companies. In every match, Yoode and Sanchi Bags gave away the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy. The organisers had also created an opportunity for spectators to win prizes.
