Cyberpark organizes awareness programme on World Diabetes Day

Kozhikode, Nov 14: The Government Cyberpark organised an awareness programme on ‘Diabetes and the Workplace’, giving awareness classes to employees at its various companies and ensure their preventive care.

The event, under the auspices of GJ Global IT Ventures, was held on the occasion of World Diabetes Day in collaboration with medical specialist Dr S.K. Suresh's Diabetes Relief Initiative.

At the Cyberpark auditorium, Dr Neeraj Manikath of Kozhikode Medical College was the chief guest. Dr S.K. Suresh Kumar was the coordinator of the programme, where other speakers included Cyberpark COO Vivek Nair, GJ Global IT Ventures CEO R. Janakiraman and Director Nikhil C.R.

The event featured opinions and suggestions regarding diabetes, besides a doubt-clearing session. Free health check-ups were also arranged. It also provided screening tests for 150 people, including random blood-sugar tests and HbA1c (which measures long-term glucose control), TSH (which detects thyroid function) and lipid profile tests (which assess heart and metabolic health).

The tests accorded priority to pre-diabetic and diabetic individuals, alongside those with body overweight and suffering from cholesterol problems.
