Kozhikode / November 7, 2025

Kozhikode, November 7: The Tourism Department has allocated Rs 99,95,000 for the construction of the Cheruvannur Feroke walkway.

The walkway will be built between Feroke Old Bridge and PWD Resthouse near Feroke new bridge beside the Chaliyar River, where the Champions Boat League takes place.

The project will be completed in six months.

“The decision to construct a walkway is among the various measures taken by the tourism department to transform the area near the old bridge into a major tourist spot, and we are receiving positive response from the public,” said Tourism Minister Shri Mohamed Riyas.

“The new walkway is expected to be a major tourist attraction near Kozhikode town,” the minister added.

The River World Park near the Feroke new bridge has cable car and zipline facilities across the Chaliyar River.

Various adventure activities, boating, and a children’s park, all initiated by the Tourism Department, are already major attractions that have boosted tourism in the Feroke municipality, situated near the ancient port town of Beypore.

The addition of the walkway beside the We Park near Feroke's old bridge, with a food street and a floating boat jetty, is expected to increase tourist traffic significantly.
