Tourism Department allocates Rs 7 crore for Nitya Chaitanya Yati Memorial and International Study Centre

Pathanamthitta, Nov. 08: The state government has granted administrative approval of Rs 7 crore for the establishment of the Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati Memorial and International Study Centre in the Konni Assembly constituency.

The project, presented at the Nava Kerala Sadas and promoted by the Tourism Department, aims to create a dedicated space for researchers and visitors to explore the life and teachings of Nitya Chaitanya Yati.

The initiative includes renovations, electrification, and the development of essential facilities tailored to enhance the experience for scholars and tourists alike.

The guru, born in Murinjakallu near Pathanamthitta, is celebrated for his profound impact on spiritual life and his commitment to human service.

His teachings and legacy are expected to attract visitors from various backgrounds, thereby enriching the cultural tapestry of Pathanamthitta. It will promote cultural tourism and honour spiritual heritage.

Tourism and Public Works Minister PA Mohamed Riyas said the memorial will not only serve as a tribute to Yati's contributions but will also significantly enhance the region's tourism potential, positioning it as a key destination for heritage and cultural tourism.
