Govt sanctions Rs 4 cr for Eravathukunnu Tourism Project

Kozhikode, Nov 8: The Tourism Department has sanctioned Rs 4 crore for the Eravathukunnu Tourism project in Kozhikode South Assembly constituency.

The project was proposed and recommended by the Nava Kerala Sadas.

Eravathukunnu is renowned as a green oasis in the midst of bustling Kozhikode city, ideal for spending quality time for both in-bound tourists and family outings, Tourism and Public Works Minister Shri PA Mohamed Riyas noted.

Sustainable development of the spot to leverage its immense tourism potential has been a long-pending demand and this project will help conserve the site and its heritage assets, the Minister added.

The works to be taken up include construction of an aesthetically appealing entrance gate, construction of boundary walls, fencing and retainer wall, laying out pathways with benches for seating on either side, landscaping, workout area with world class equipment, a steel bridge, moveable photo frames, renovation of the open stage, watch tower and cafeteria.
