Vinvish Technologies to set up design centre in Technopark Phase-3
1,10,000 sq.ft. facility to accommodate 500 professionals

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 06: As part of its major expansion strategy, Technopark-based Opto-electronics, Electronics and IOT products development and manufacturing major Vinvish Technologies Pvt. Ltd. will set up its own campus in Phase 3 campus of Technopark Trivandrum by 2027.
“The facility will come up with a built up area of 1,10,000 sq. ft. and can accommodate about 500 plus professionals,” revealed by Mr. Pius Varghese, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vinvish Technologies, during Technopark’s official vodcast, ‘Aspire: Stories of Innovation.’
Speaking about another major project, he said a total of seven buildings will be constructed in four acres of land in KINFRA Film, Video and IT park, Trivandrum with a total built-up area of 3,50,000 sqft for high volume manufacturing of electronics, mechanical and Optoelectronics products.
“The first building of 50,000 sq.ft. will be ready for production in another two months’ time and the foundation of the second building is completed and the second building will be operational within another six months,” he pointed out.
Mr. Pius informed that the company is planning the completion of the entire campuses in Technopark Phase 3 and KINFRA by 2027 and the USP will be end to end manufacturing of electronics, mechanical and Optoelectronics products under one roof.
Noting that the company will be adding 1000 employees in another 3 to 4 years, the COO said after the completion of these facilities, the company will go for Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Commenting on the robust ecosystem in the capital city, Mr. Pius said besides, BrahMos, the three units of ISRO: VSSC, LPSC and IISU, offer immense opportunities for Companies based out of Trivandrum and Kerala.
“There are myriad opportunities emerging from defence and space sectors. Getting talent is not an issue in Kerala which is a knowledge economy. We have a combination of sufficient optics, electronics and mechanical engineers,” he remarked.
On R&D and innovation, he said the firm aims to develop technologies and products indigenously at affordable rate by leveraging the vibrant ecosystem. He also stressed the need for industry-academia collaboration for the implementation of R&D and technology.
Vinvish Technologies successfully executed its first space project for NASA in 2013 in the form of a space-qualified amplifier to send the high-definition videos from International Space Station to the earth in lightning speed. Its major clientele also includes SpaceX, Google, Facebook, Boeing and ISRO.
While starting its operations in Technopark in 2007, the company initially focused on electronic hardware design, embedded software development and mechanical design and optics design. In 2015, the company developed confocal microscope, the first product manufactured under ‘Make in India’ initiative.
According to Mr. Pius, most of the entrepreneurs fail when they embrace ‘concept to product’ approach, rather than adopting ‘concept to market’ theory.
Highlighting the importance of the timely delivery of products and market research, he added that there should be a platform for entrepreneurs to inform them of various available financial supports, schemes, incentives offered by State and Central Govt. entities for various sizes and types Industries.
