Govt nod for Rs 2.38 cr project to ramp up facilities at Padiyoor-Pazhassi Eco Planet

Kannur, Nov 4: The state government has given administrative sanction for the Rs. 2.38-crore project for the development of a children's play park, garden, recreation zone and surrounding area at Padiyoor-Pazhassi Eco Planet in the district.
“The project will ramp up tourism infrastructure and provide a modern recreational space for children and families in the region,” said Tourism and Public Works Minister, Shri PA Mohamed Riyas.
“The development initiative is expected to transform the site into a family-friendly eco-tourism destination with improved amenities and a well-planned garden and play area. The first phase of the development of the Eco Planet project for an amount of Rs. 5.66 crores is fast nearing completing,” the Minister added.
The second phase of the works on the project comprises several components, including civil works, landscape irrigation, electrification, children’s play equipment and main-line water connection.
A caravan park, a ropeway and solar boats are also being planned to be installed at Eco-Planet making it a mega recreational park, the Minister informed.
The Government has directed that all procedural norms be strictly followed in the execution of the project, in line with existing Government guidelines.
