Govt Sanctions ₹2.56 cr for Cultural Centre at Balussery Kotta Temple

Kozhikode, Nov 5: The state government has sanctioned Rs. 2.56 crore for the construction of the Kshetra Kala Pariseelana Kalari and Annadana Mandapam at the Balussery Kotta Temple in the district.

“The project will promote traditional art forms and enhance cultural tourism in the Malabar region”, Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas said. It will also boost the local tourism potential of Balussery, known for its historical and spiritual significance, the Minister added.

The works to be taken up include the development of an auditorium, entrance gate, landscaped pathways and street lighting system.

 Once completed, the new facilities are expected to provide a venue for cultural performances, training programmes, and community gatherings, while also improving the visitor experience at one of Kozhikode’s important heritage sites.

 The Government has directed that all procedural norms as specified in Government guidelines are strictly followed in the implementation of the project.
