Govt sanctions Rs 5 cr for stepping up facilities at Thirumullavaram beach

Kollam, Nov. 01: The State Government has given administration sanction of Rs 5 crore for taking up works to improve the facilities at Thirumullavaram beach, which forms part of the Kollam-Thangassery Coastal Tourism Circuit and Fort Renovation Project.

This was one of the tourism projects that was proposed during the Nava Kerala Sadas held at Kollam assembly constituency.

Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas said the completion of the project will strengthen the beach tourism in the area. Thirumullavaram and Thangassery have traditionally been a major tourist attraction of Kollam, famed for their beauty and history. Ramping up the facilities at the beach has been a long-pending need, the Minister added.

The works to be taken up as part of the project include electronics, electrical and civil works.
