'Vision 2031’: Minister P Rajeeve to open Industry Seminar on Oct 23

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22: Minister for Industries, Law and Coir, Shri P Rajeeve will inaugurate the industries seminar organised as part of the State Government’s thematic deliberations ‘Vision 2031’ at Al Saj Convention Centre, Kazhakootam on October 23, at 10.00 am.
Minister for General Education and Labour Shri V Sivankutty will deliver presidential address at the function. Shri Kadakampally Surendran, MLA, will deliver the key-note address and Shri Sanjay Khanna, CMD BPCL, the special address.
The valedictory session of the day-long seminar will be addressed by Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Shri G R Anil and Minister for Finance, Shri K N Balagopal.
The seminar marks a milestone in state government’s efforts to present a coherent, long-term industrial vision that aligns with Kerala’s broader economic and social transformation goals.
The event is organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce, in association with Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) and Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).
It seeks to consolidate insights from policymakers, industry stakeholders, and institutional partners to frame strategies that can sustain high-value industrial growth while ensuring environmental responsibility and social equity.
At the inaugural session, Shri APM Mohammed Hanish IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, will present the achievements of Kerala’s industrial sector over the past ten years, highlighting progress in industrial infrastructure, Ease Of Doing Business, MSME facilitation and sectoral diversification.
Shri Ramesh Kannan, CEO, Kaynes Technologies; Shri Pradeep Jayaraman, CEO, Adani Vizhinjam Ports Pvt Ltd; Shri John Kuriakose, CEO, Dentcare Dental Lab Pvt Ltd; Shri Mayan Mohammed, MD, Western India and Ms Nazneen Jehangir, CEO NEST Digital will be among those participating in the panel discussion on ‘Roadmap for Responsible Growth and Innovation.’ Shri. Harikrishnan R, IRTS, ED, KSIDC and Mr. Santhosh Koshy Thomas, MD, KINFRA, will also participate.
In the post lunch session, senior executives from leading Public Sector Undertakings will share their views on ‘PSUs 2.0 – Powering Kerala’s Next Industrial Leap’.
Shri A Rajarajan, Director VSSC, Shri Ajith Kumar K, Executive Chairman, BPT and Vice Admiral Sreekumar Nair, Rtd, MD Keltron will participate in a discussion on “Powering Kerala’s next Industrial leap.”
On a session on ‘Micro to Mighty: Reimagining MSMEs for Kerala’s industrial future will be joined by Shri VKC Razack, Chairman, CII Kerala; Shri Thomas John, MD Agappe Diagnostics; Shri A Nizarudeen, President KSSIA State Council; Shri Apsara Raju, President, Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi; Shri Roy Peter, Chairman CREDAI-Kerala and Shri ES Biju, Secretary, Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Samithi.
On the session on ‘Legacy industries, New Value Chains 2031 will have participation by Dr KS Kripa Kumar, Director, Handlooms; Shri Harikrishnan Nair, President Western India Cashew; Shri Mahadevan P, MD Travancore Cocotuft; Shri A Alexander IAS (rtd), CMD Kerala Cashew Board; Dr C R Elsy, Prof &IPR Leader, Kerala Agricultural University and Shri Tony Paul, CEO Uravu Indigenous Science and Technology Study Centre.
The discussions will focus on positioning Kerala as a knowledge-driven, technology-enabled industrial hub, promoting sustainability and resilience, and strengthening the link between research, entrepreneurship, and employment.
The event will conclude with a Summing-up and Way Forward session, where Shri P Rajeeve will outline the way forward for the industrial landscape of the state.
Shri APM Mohammed Hanish IAS will sum up the deliberations at the seminar and Shri Vishnuraj P IAS, Managing Director, KSIDC & Director, DIC, will propose a vote of thanks.
