Milma’s TRCMPU posts record sales of dairy products in Onam season

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept.08: Milma’s Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) has registered record sales of dairy products during the Onam by clocking a turnover of Rs 37 crore in the festival season. 

TRCMPU has yielded revenue mainly through the sale of milk (38,78,851 litre) and curd (3,69,507 kg) from August 31 (Anizham day) to September 4 (Uthradam day) of Onam, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts.

On Uthradam day alone, the regional union has achieved the record sale of 13,37,471 litre of milk and 1,49,632 kg of curd. Besides, 345 metric tonne of ghee was sold during the Onam season, taking its revenue to Rs 37 crore.

TRCMPU Chairman Smt Mani Viswanath and MD Shri Muhammed Ansari lauded the collective effort of dairy farmers, employees, agencies, trade unions and supply chain workers for achieving the record sale of dairy products during Onam.

Expressing gratitude to consumers for their patronage to Milma, Smt Mani Viswanath added that realising the huge demand, TRCMPU had made extensive arrangements during Onam for the seamless supply of milk and other dairy products.
