Kerala IT takes part in Semicon India 2025 conclave

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 04: A delegation of Kerala IT showcased the state’s potential in becoming a semiconductor hub in the country besides its commitment to fostering innovation, talent and strategic partnerships in this transformative sector at the Semicon India 2025 conference held in New Delhi.

Now in its fourth edition, the flagship event was held at Yashobhoomi in the national capital from September 2 to 4, aimed at positioning India as a trusted partner in the global semiconductor supply chain.

The Kerala IT delegation was led by Shri Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary, Electronics & IT, Govt. of Kerala. Shri Vishnu V Nair and Shri Prajeet Prabhakaran, the top IT Strategists of the state government; Dr Alex, Director, Digital University Kerala; and Shri Venkat Raghavendra, CEO, Maker Village, were also part of the delegation.

The event saw convergence of global leaders, startups, academia, innovators and policymakers to shape the future of semiconductors in India.

The delegation engaged in insightful discussions with leading global and deep-tech companies at the conclave. They include Innatera, Saint-Gobain, Applied Materials, AMD, CYRAN AI Solutions, HTL Biopharma, Honeywell, Micron and Lam Research.

Shri Rao said the conversations reinforced Kerala’s potential as a hub for semiconductor design, advanced packaging and AI-led innovation.

“We are excited about the possibilities of collaboration and co-development with these global leaders. With a strong talent pool, proactive policy support and a growing ecosystem of electronics and deep-tech startups, Kerala is ready to contribute meaningfully to India’s semiconductor ambitions,” he added.

Semicon India 2025 was organized jointly by India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association.
