KSIE inks MoU with Atal Incubation Centre of Banaras varsity
Tie-up with eight startups for marketing campaign

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 27: The Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Limited (KSIE) of the Department of Industries, Government of Kerala, today inked an MoU with Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for marketing the best eight startups registered with AIC in the entire South India.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister for Industries, Law and Coir, Shri P Rajeeve, at his Chamber at the Secretariat here. Shri APM Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary, Industries, Smt Anie Jula Thomas, Officer on Special Duty, Industries Department and Shri Ajithkumar, Chairman, Board of Public Sector Transformation (BPT) were also present.
Dr B Sreekumar, MD, KSIE, and Dr PV Rajeev, Director and Professor-in-Charge, AIC-BHU, signed the agreement.
The eight startups collaborating with the state public sector undertaking are Pawac Drones, Ecofragg Solution LLP, Flightwing Enterprises, MythoQuantum Explorers, Bio Bhoomi, Go-Gram, Enertics EV and Concreed Solutions.
Established in 2018, AIC at BHU has emerged as a thriving launchpad for deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
MythoQuantum Explorers specialises in software, data solutions, automation, and artificial intelligence. Concreed Solutions offers waterproofing, paints, and rubber O-rings for the automotive and defence sectors.
Ecofragg Solution LLP focuses on fragrance products and perfumes, while Bio Bhoomi offers a diverse range of medical, hospital, and industrial consumables. Flightwing Enterprises develops drone-based solutions for various applications, including global logistics services (GLS), flood and drought monitoring, and agricultural purposes.
Enertics EV is dedicated to creating charging stations for electric vehicles, catering to a wide range of applications, from bicycles to heavy trucks. Bajrang Drones (Pawac) manufactures and sells surveillance-capable drones, holding the necessary licenses, and Go-Gram is involved in agriculture, beekeeping, and livestock, offering a wide array of products across these sectors.
AIC-BHU plays a vital role in promoting and hand-holding startups in the domains of deep tech, IoT, medical and data analytics. It has also incubated startups in various areas, including drones, hospital and industrial consumables, fragrances and perfumes, waterproofing materials and paints, rubber-based high-value products for defence and missiles, high-efficiency EV charging stations, and infrastructure for bicycles to multi-axle trucks, as well as core medical startups.
AIC-BHU currently has more than 160 startups and over 30 MoUs for progressive growth and resource utilisation in India and the UAE, and stands tall among incubation centres in public universities in India.
KSIE, a holding company under the state’s Department of Industries & Commerce since 1973, was primarily mandated to nurse back and revive the sick units in the public sector. In 1993, KSIE delinked its subsidiaries, which became independent entities.
KSIE’s main activities include cargo operations at the Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram airports, Kerala Soaps at Kozhikode, Cochin International Container Freight Station at Kalamassery near Ernakulam, and marketing through business centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode, and Palakkad. Additionally, the organisation runs the infrastructure division in the state capital.
