BRIC-RGCB launches VinMax Biotech Pvt Ltd at KINFRA Campus
Startup to develop advance materials for wound care, and ointments and sprays for diabetic and burn wounds

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 28: In a milestone initiative for translating innovative research into practical biotechnology solutions, BRIC-RGCB today launched VinMax Biotech Pvt Ltd. at the KINFRA Campus in Kazhakootam, a faculty startup led by scientist Dr GS Vinodkumar.
RGCB Director Prof. Chandrabhas Narayana inaugurated the startup, which is set to make waves in the biotech industry with its focus on ground-breaking areas like development of advanced materials for wound care and tissue engineering, and creation of ointments and sprays specifically designed for diabetic and burn wounds.
The startup, considered a landmark in biotechnology innovation at BRIC-RGCB, will also strive to develop innovative organoid-based drug discovery solutions.
Prof. Narayana said the establishment of the startup is a testament to BRIC-RGCB's unwavering commitment to promoting faculty-led entrepreneurship and advancing the commercialization of cutting-edge research outcomes.
“This initiative not only represents a new chapter in the institution's mission but also underscores the vital role of academia in enhancing industry engagement and contributing to the growth of India’s burgeoning biotech ecosystem,” he added.
Expressing his gratitude for the support received from BRIC-RGCB, Dr Vinodkumar highlighted the importance of collaboration between research and industry in translating scientific findings into real-world applications.
“VinMax Biotech aims to address critical healthcare challenges through innovative biotech solutions,” he noted.
