Calicut FC appoints Ever Adriano Demalde of Argentina as its new head coach for SLK 2025

Kozhikode, Aug 29: Calicut Football Club (CFC), the champions of the inaugural Super League Kerala (SLK) in 2024, has appointed Ever Adriano Demalde, an Argentine football coach of international repute, as its new head coach for the second edition of Super League Kerala (SLK).
Demalde will arrive in Kozhikode via Mumbai on Sunday (August 31) by the 5 pm Indigo flight, according to an announcement by the team management.
The 38-year-old Demaldé holds a CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation) PRO licence, which is a testament to his qualification and expertise as a coach. He served a stint as an assistant coach for the Saudi Arabia national team under Bert van Marwijk, and for French club Marseille under Marcelo Bielsa.
He also managed several clubs, including Herrera FC, FC Dila, Independiente Rivadavia, Gimnasia y Tiro, and Al Hilal United. With him as coach, Al Hilal United secured a record ten consecutive wins in the league.
“What makes him outstanding is his international experience in the global professional football proving his skill as an astute football coach in the best working methodologies. Known for strategizing offensive and tactical ball possession to put high pressure on the opponent, he will give a cutting edge to CFC in its preparations to retain the title” said Bino Jose Eapen, Secretary CFC.
Super League Kerala, conducted on the same lines as Indian Super League (ISL), is one of the premier sporting events in Kerala. Six teams from different districts will participate in the league which starts on October 2 in Kozhikode.
A total of 30 matches will be played in the preliminary rounds, each team participating in ten matches (five at the home ground and five away). The top four teams advance to the play-off stage.
EMS stadium Kozhikode is the home ground of Calicut Football Club.
