Milma’s ERCMPU all set to meet Onam season extra demand

Kochi / August 26, 2025

Kochi, Aug 26 : With festival mood setting in ahead of Onam, Ernakulam Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU) has made extensive arrangements to meet additional demand for milk and dairy products, which exceeds three times the normal requirement in Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam and Thrissur districts during the season.

Apart from liquid milk and other staple items, ERCMPU will also make available  an assortment savouries including 65 varieties of ice-creams (including sugar-free ice cream and peda), five kinds of peda and various types of paneer and palada in the market, TRCMPU Chairman C.N. Valsalan Pillai said on Atham day today, which marks the start of the ten-day festival.

“We are doing this as per the sharp increase in demand. Everything has been set in place to ensure timely delivery of high quality liquid milk and curd from our dairies in Tripunithura, Kottayam, Kattappana and Thrissur, besides the dairy products made at Edappally,” he said.

Also, Milma's milk and other products will be made available through shops in the rural area, Mr Pillai said. “We are going ahead with our plans to ensure that there is no shortage of quality Milma brand dairy products. That will also check the entry of low  quality products during the Onam season. The dairy farmers in our network are the ultimate beneficiaries  of the market expansion plans and  also we have requested the support from them as well as other stakeholders,” he added.

The Chairman said that ERCMPU is “fully equipped” to maintain its commitment to the people by distributing various products of Milma. “We are the most trusted brand in the Onam market when it comes to dairy products in Kerala,” he added.
