MPEDA to celebrate its foundation day on Sunday
Stakeholder meetings set to begin from Aug 25

Kochi, Aug 23: The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) is celebrating its 53rd anniversary on Sunday, followed by a series of meetings of stakeholders in the marine sector.
Former Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. V.P. Joy will inaugurate the day-long programmes tomorrow where in MPEDA staff who have completed 25 years of service and pensioners above the age of 80 will be honoured.
MPEDA Chairman Shri D.V. Swamy, IAS, will address the staff and other delegates. Children of the employees will be given the annual Rajeswari Endowment Awards for scoring the highest marks in the 10th and 12th grade board examinations.
There will also be cultural programmes by the staff and their families. MPEDA, with head office at Kochi , functioning under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, was established in 1972 as a statutory body with a mandate to promote the marine products industry, by focusing on increasing exports and ensuring the quality as well as sustainability of the seafood produced in India.
