Tourism Minister opens Onam Festival Office

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 21: Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas inaugurated the Onam festival office at the Tourism Directorate here on Thursday.
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Shri GR Anil unveiled this year’s Onam Festival logo by presenting it to Minister for General Education and Labour Shri V Sivankutty at the function.
The Festival Office will coordinate and oversee various facets of Onam celebrations planned across the state from September 3 to 9.
The best of Kerala’s classical, folk and ethnic art forms will be staged in the state capital and scores of venues across the state as part of the Onam Week Celebrations.
Members of Legislative Assembly Shri Antony Raju, Shri V Joy, Shri I B Satheesh, Shri C K Hareendran, Smt O S Ambika, Shri V K Prashanth attended the function along with Mayor Smt Arya Rajendran, District Panchayath President Shri D Suresh Kumar, Tourism Secretary Shri K Biju and Tourism Director Smt Sikha Surendran.
The celebrations will strictly follow the green protocol. The festival will conclude with a cultural pageantry on September 9.
