Kochi, Aug. 22: Work on the Rs. 600-crores Adani Logistics Park will commence at Kalamasserry near here on Saturday (August 23), one of the major projects yielded by the Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS) organised by the State Government in the city in February.
Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the function to mark the groundbreaking ceremony of the project, helmed by Adani Logistics Ltd, at 11.30 am.
Minister for Industries, Law and Coir Shri P Rajeeve will preside over the function and Shri V D Satheesan, Leader of Opposition, will be the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Shri Ashwani Gupta, CEO, Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd.; Shri Pankaj Bhardwaj, Business Head, Adani Agri Logistics; and Shri Pradeep Jayaraman, CEO, Adani Vizhinjam Port, will also attend.
The project is coming up on 70 acres of land lying between HMT Kalamasserry and Medical College Hospital.
“With the implementation of this big-ticket project, Kochi is poised to become a major logistics hub in the country,” Shri Rajeeve said. The rapidly growing city’s seamless connectivity and proximity to Cochin and Vizhinjam ports makes it attractive for logistics investments. The project is expected to generate more than 4,500 direct and indirect job opportunities, the Minister added.
Several logistics companies have evinced interest in having facilities space in the park.
