Content creators say AI cannot replace human creativity in their field

Kochi / July 26, 2025

Kochi, July 26: Screenwriter Sanjay Cherian of Sanjay-Bobby fame and director Christo Tommy believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) cannot replicate the unique experiences and personal touch that a writer undergoes during the writing process.

According to them, AI can, however, be a helpful assistant for writing and conducting research. The comments were made during the session titled "Today's Cinema: From Script to Screen" at the Kerala Startup Mission’s (KSUM) Kerala Innovation Festival (KIF 2025) Creators Summit, held at the Kalamassery Innovation Hub.

The speakers commented that AI can analyse and store knowledge from various sources, which could serve as a valuable tool during the writing process. They both agreed that AI could help reduce the costs of film production.

Actress Nikhila Vimal expressed that it would be beneficial to recreate an actor using AI if the film’s theme and context demanded it.  “Social media reels and shots are creating opportunities and possibilities for many people to enter the film industry,” she said.

Entrepreneur and producer TR Shamsudheen led the session, which was attended by an engaged audience of content creators and enthusiasts.

Fly Wheel's chief editor, Hani Musthafa, emphasised the importance of credibility during the session titled ‘Kerala’s Auto Creators on the Fast Track’ due to the overwhelming amount of content available on social media. He stated that changes with each era must be embraced, and content should be modified accordingly.

Mia Joseph and Najeeb Rahman, both automotive enthusiasts, spoke during the session, which was moderated by Deepak Rajan, the founder and CEO of Techmaghi.

The session titled 'Scaling Stories: The Business of Tech and Lifestyle Influence' emphasised the significance of recognising social media trends, producing content, and dedicating time to it.  In this session, traveller and entrepreneur Balram Menon joined content creators Arju and Sebin Cyriac.

Sunitha Scharma, Maria Dominic, Ammu Varghese, and Amita Jobin participated in the session titled 'Life and Style: Building Brands Through Influence.'
