Trivandrum / July 24, 2025

Thiruvananthapuram, July 24: Students of Christ Nagar School, in the city, had the opportunity to be part of an immersive stage show as renowned Berlin-based choreographer Isabelle Schad performed her widely appreciated piece ‘Harvest’, highlighting children’s connect with nature.

Wednesday’s performance, blending dance and music, was presented in India by the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore and Goethe-Zentrum, Trivandrum, as part of its initiative of bringing global artistic excellence to young audiences in Kerala.

Harvest, which came to India as part of Ranga Shankara’s AHA! Theatre for Children Festival 2025, explores the relationship between humans and nature through a captivating interplay of movement, sticks, and branches.

The production offered a powerful reflection on mindfulness and respectful collaboration between humanity and the natural world.

Children were given bamboo sticks and other properties to be part of the act through dance movements and music.

Schad conceived ‘Harvest’ in 2021 through her collaboration with Theater o.N. and Offensive Tanz für junges Publikum. It was nominated for the Ikarus Prize 2022.

Jan Lorys, Aya Toraiwa, Manuel Lindner performed the dance and did the choreography while Damir Simunovic handled music and live sound.
