Kerala Innovation Festival showcases future model of everyday life
Kochi / July 25, 2025
Kochi, July 25: From kitchen waste disposal to underwater drones, robotic grafting to satellite farming, AI blood banks to 3D printing of organs, the ongoing Kerala Innovation Festival has a bewildering range of futuristic products powered by ultramodern technologies life that are impacting mankind in a big way.
An exhibition at the July 25-26 KIF being held at the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) just outside the city reveals the use of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, machine learning and robotics in routine life unuversally.
For instance, two robots from Bionic AI welcome visitors on the main stage of the event at KSUM’s Digital Hub in Kalamassery. Visitors, particularly children, go for an interesting interaction with the robots. In fact, there is a segment showcasing select robotic works by school students.
Also on display are some of the most advanced products of startups that have written success stories. These include the EyeROV underwater drones that participated in this summer’s Operation Sindoor, the fuselage drone that focuses on agricultural needs, and Astrek that manufactures robotic suits for bedridden patients.
Scire Science, which manufactures bio-ink for making artificial organs, is the first company in India and the fifth in the world in the field. They have developed this product based on the research technology of the Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram. Some of the major highlights in health-tech are Celeste Align, which aligns teeth without wires, and MyCare, a healthcare app.
For viewing are examples of efficient use of technology in different fields such as aeroponics technology and IoT-enabled farming methods that can be used on flats, and Seamoto, which has developed an electric motor that can be easily attached to any boat.
Likewise, there are products that monitor the health of pets. A locket and belt that tracks the location of dogs and cats, besides a device for complete healthcare for cows, show how modern technology bears a profound impact on daily life.
The MVP Studio, which showcases products with market potential from women entrepreneurs, is another attraction. Then there is a machine that turns 50 kg of kitchen waste into biodegradable waste in just 16 hours. Also, there is an AI tailor shop, alongside a sustainable construction method using plates, utensils, and plastic bricks made from bio-waste.
The innovative products of the students of the Kerala State Institute of Design are attracting the viewers. The design, which can be used as a bag and a raincoat at the same time, is a model of innovation. The products and installations of the Fab Lab reveal the superiority of technology in the field of design.
More than 10,000 people arrived in Kalamassery on the first day of the Kerala Innovation Festival. The KIF will conclude on Saturday.
