Kerala IT’s soccer tourney kicks off at Technopark
Raviz Prathidhwani Sevens Football to feature around 2500 players

Thiruvananthapuram, July 19: The largest football tournament in the state's IT sector, organised by Prathidhwani, the welfare and recreation forum for IT employees at Technopark, in collaboration with Yoode Promotions and Raviz Hotels, has commenced at Technopark.
Indian Beach Football captain Shri Rohit Yesudas inaugurated the ‘Raviz Prathidhwani Sevens-Season 8’, a football tournament in sevens format, which will run until October.
Shri Ayyappan Nallaperumal, GM, Leela Raviz Kovalam; Shri Prem Kamal, Director, Sales & Marketing; Shri Sarath Madathil, DGM, Marketing and Special Projects; Shri Surjith, Business Development Manager, Yoode; Shri Vipin KV, General Convenor, Prathidhwani Sevens; Shri Rajith V P, Convenor, Sports Forum; Shri Vineeth Chandran, Secretary, Prathidhwani; Shri Vishnu Rajendran, President; Shri Saneesh KP, Vice President; Shri Ajmal Shakir, Tournament Joint Convenor and Shri Rajeev Krishnan, State Convenor, Prathidhwani, were also present at the function.
The inaugural event also featured the exchange of the trophy by current winners, a bike rally by participating teams, and the unveiling of their jerseys.
More than 2,500 IT employees and 101 teams from over 90 companies will participate in the tourney, comprising 164 matches, to be held on Saturdays and Sundays on the Technopark ground. After the league round, there will be knockout matches, followed by semi-finals and the final, which will be held on working days.
The winning team in the final will get a Rs 25,000 cash prize, an ever-rolling trophy and one-day accommodation at Raviz Ashtamudi Resort, Kollam. Besides, Raviz Hotels and Yoode Promotions will sponsor other prizes to the winners. There will be special prizes for the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
In every match, Yoode and Sanchi Bags will give away the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy. The organisers have also created an opportunity for spectators to win prizes. A 5s (five-a-side) football tournament for women will also be held as part of the events.
Infosys has won the tournament five times, while UST Global trounced Infosys twice to lift the trophy.
