Goethe-Zentrum warns against offer of German exam seats by unauthorized agencies

Trivandrum / July 9, 2025

Thiruvananthapuram, July 09: The Goethe-Zentrum has warned against the spread of messages in various student groups claiming to offer guaranteed seats for their German proficiency exams at its Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi centres.

The centre said in statement that it has come to its notice that some individuals are persistently sharing these messages across different student communities and WhatsApp groups, promising confirmed seats, often for a higher fee.

Many candidates have been contacting the Goethe-Zentrum’s centres in Kochi and the state capital to verify the truth of such claims. Some had even sought to know if there was any connection between the centres and external agents, which is totally baseless. Meanwhile, some individuals falsely claimed to have secured seats through unofficial channels.

Dr. Syed Ibrahim, Director of the Goethe-Zentrum and Germany’s Honorary Consul, has urged people not to become victims of these unscrupulous agents.

He advised candidates to refer to the official website www.german.in or the Goethe-Zentrum offices for registration details and procedures for its various exams.

Dr. Ibrahim emphasized that the centres have not authorized any external agencies for exam registrations, contrary to the claims made by these dubious individuals or groups.
