KSUM startup UNQ Technologies signs MoU with IIT Madras

Kochi, June 4: UNQ Technologies, a Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) unique ID startup, has secured incubation at IIT Madras, marking a major step forward in innovating time-critical solutions for Indian cities.
UNQ’s breakthrough technology optimizes traffic signals to ensure smooth, rapid movement of emergency vehicles like ambulances through crowded city intersections. Alongside this, UNQ has signed a strategic technology transfer agreement with IIT Madras to support cutting-edge research and development.
Anup Ambika, CEO of KSUM, praised the collaboration as a strong boost for homegrown innovations and the thriving startup ecosystem.
The District Fire Officers (DFOs) and District Medical Officers (DMOs) of Malappuram and Kozhikode have formally submitted a report to the respective district collectors, requesting implementation of the traffic optimization system in their districts to improve emergency response.
In addition, UNQ has developed an AI-powered appointment scheduling & practice management system to enhance service efficiency in time constraint service sectors. UNQ CEO Mohamed Jasim emphasized the potential of these technologies to drastically reduce waiting times during emergency, for medical appointments and to curb the spread of infectious diseases by minimizing hospital crowding.
With growing urban traffic challenges, UNQ’s smart technologies promise significant improvements in emergency response and everyday healthcare services.
