CFC Corporate Challenge Football: CAFIT, Aster MIMS enter final

Kozhikode, May 17: CAFIT and Aster MIMS entered the finals of the the CFC Corporate Challenge Sevens Football Tournament in the city tonight, defeating Malabar FC and Peekay Steel FC respectively.
At the first semi-final at Government Cyberpark, CAFIT (Calicut Forum for IT) sailed smoothly to emerge the victors 2-0 at the Cyber Sports Arena and qualifying for the final encounter on Sunday.
The second semifinal saw Aster MIMS winning on the basis of penalty-kicks.
The matches for the runner-up and the final will be held on Sunday.
The championship, under the auspices of the Calicut Football Club, features 12 corporate teams: Calicut Press Club, Aster MIMS Calicut, Kenza TMT, myG, Highlight, Xpresso Global, Peekay Steel, Xylem Learning, Paragon and GTech, besides CAFIT and Malabar Group.
The kick-off was on May 9, with CAFIT beating HiLITE 6-1.
