Semiconductor fab: KSUM invites proposals for preparing feasibility report

Trivandrum / March 28, 2025

Thiruvananthapuram, March 28: Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has invited proposals from qualified consultants and firms for preparing a feasibility report for establishing a semiconductor fabrication facility in the state.

The objective of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for establishing a state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication facility to give an added thrust to Kerala’s strategic vision to build a high-technology electronics and semiconductor ecosystem.

The feasibility study will evaluate the technical, economic, and operational aspects of setting up a semiconductor fab, including site analysis, infrastructure requirements, market demand, financial viability, and potential socio-economic benefits for the state.

The consultant/firm will have to develop a framework for collaboration with semiconductor companies, government and KSUM, besides studying the possibilities of ramping up the capacity of academic research and R&D initiatives.

The study will also explore options for considering an ideal location for the facility and outline investment and operational strategies, design concepts, budget estimates and regulatory requirements. Besides, environmental impact study and project framework in coordination with Central government also have to be considered.

Environmental regulatory bodies and Central government institutions can also apply.

Last date of application is April 9. For more details and to apply, visit: startupmission.kerala.gov.in/tenders

KSUM is the Kerala government’s nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
