Invest Kerala Global Summit to boost startup ecosystem

Feb. 21-22 summit in Kochi to have dedicated session on startups

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 16: Kerala’s flourishing startup ecosystem stands to make handsome gains from the February 21-22 Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS 2025) in Kochi as the state’s widely acclaimed innovative zone is a key showcase at the event.

The high-profile conclave has earmarked a session exclusively for scaling up startups by netting adequate funding and mentor support.

IKGS 2025, which will focus on generating investments in key sectors identified by the government’s New Industrial Policy (NIP), is scheduled to be held at the Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre, Kochi.

The summit is organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) on behalf of the Department of Industries & Commerce.

Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event and Minister for Industries, Law and Coir, Shri P Rajeeve will preside over the inaugural session.

Industry leaders and more than 2,500 investors will converge at IKGS 2025, which will also be attended by entrepreneurs and business delegations from different countries.

The focus sectors of the summit include sustainable technologies, innovation & industry 4.0, strategic industries, health, fintech and tourism, which promise great opportunities for startups along with major players. 

One of the major highlights of the event is the panel session on the startup ecosystem of Kerala, besides a subsequent session on nurturing future talents.

Noting that panel sessions on focused sectors at the event will be seeking ways to attract investment opportunities, Shri Rajeeve said the two sessions on startups are meant toshowcase Kerala’s robust innovation zone, by attracting investment and building partnerships.

“Stakeholders will share their insights on sustaining startups, which are expected to play a key role in innovation-driven enterprises the world over. This will help the ecosystem to blaze new trails for growth,” Shri Rajeeve added.

On the inaugural day, a session on ‘Nurturing the Future of Startups and Innovation’ will be held which will be followed by a session on ‘Future of Talent.’ The event also promises lot of networking opportunities for startup promoters.

Ramping up the startup ecosystem was one of a series of sector-specific meets held in the run-up to IKGS 2025 for drawing up strategies on effectively presenting the state’s innovative zone before investors and mentors.
