National Milk Day: Milma Pathanamthitta to host expo, quiz, painting competitions

Pathanamthitta, Nov. 16: Milma will allow public to visit its Pathanamthitta dairy on November 25 and 26, coinciding with the National Milk Day celebrations. The visitors will be able to see how the plant processes milk and makes other dairy products from 10 am to 4 pm.
The country celebrates November 26 as the National Milk Day, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the late Dr Verghese Kurien, the father of India’s White Revolution.
The Pathanamthitta dairy, under Trivandrum Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) is south Kerala’s first dairy to get the ISO 22000-2018 certification for adhering to food security specifications.
The products on display will be milk, curd (in cup and sachet), Milma peda and paneer. Also on discount sales will be ghee, butter and paneer, besides desserts such as Milma peda, ice-creams, gulab jamoon, palada and several types of chocolates, sip-up, lolly, mango juice, rusk, flavoured milk and cupcake.
Dairy-related interactive sessions and stalls displaying various items of Milma have also been arranged as part of the Milk Day celebrations.
A ‘Milk Quiz’ for high-school students on November 21 at 11 am and a painting competition for upper primary school students on November 20 at 10.30 am will be conducted at the Conference Hall of Pathanamthitta Dairy. Besides, prizes will be given away to the winners of the competitions, informed Shri Muhammed Ansari C A, Senior Manager, Pathanamthitta Dairy.
