Kerala pitches for govt-industry tie-up to boost innovation at GITEX Global 2024
Five-day show concludes in Dubai World Trade Centre

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 18: Putting up a great show at the five-day 44th edition of GITEX Global, the largest international tech and startup event, the Kerala IT delegation has made a strong case for ramping up collaboration between government and industry to foster technological innovation on the global platform.
The October 14-18 event, which concluded in Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday, featured 30 companies as part of Kerala IT delegation, showcasing the prowess of the state’s startup ecosystem.
GITEX Global 2024 provided a perfect platform for companies and startups from Kerala to display their innovative products and solutions before global audience, resulting in business deals and investment opportunities from major stakeholders across the globe.
Kerala IT, a regular presence at the event since 2016, had a 110 sq. m pavilion at GITEX 2024 with the theme 'Powering innovation', featuring the state’s IT ecosystem’s commitment to leveraging technology for sustainable development and societal upliftment.
Mr Vishnu V. Nair and Mr Prajeet Prabhakaran, IT Fellows supporting High Power IT Committee, Government of Kerala, represented Kerala IT at the global event. Mr Prabhakaran delivered a speech on 'Kerala- The Next Technology &Innovation Destination' at a session on the sidelines of the event, delineating an overview on the IT ecosystem in the state and also on the innovation and startup ecosystem.
Kerala startups exhibited products and conducted demos across a range of technological domains including data analytics, AI, cybersecurity, website development, ERP solutions, mobile app development, DevOps and cloud services at the expo.
The Government of Kerala has been proactively fostering a thriving IT ecosystem, working on innovative models of development including industry-academia collaboration and public-private partnership.
At GITEX Global 2024, Technopark-based PromptTech Global, a leading provider of technology-driven business solutions, relaunched it “PromptTech Connect App” with advanced AI capabilities. This significant upgrade marks a new era that enables businesses to streamline their operations,improve customer engagement, and harness advanced AI features to fuel business growth.
Chairman of Kingston Investment Holdings Mr. Lalu Samuel, who is also the Chairman of Industries Group under Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Indian Business and Professional Council – Sharjah, was present on the occasion.
Mr. Shaiju Mohandas, Deputy CEO of Lulu Exchange, and Mr. Joseph Cletus, Assistant Vice President of Business Transformation at Lulu Financial Holdings, introduced the app's Wages Protection System (WPS) integration.
Mr. Ashok Kurian Panjikaran, Head, Business Development, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), also attended the event.
Highlighting the significance of the relaunch, Mr. Vishnu V Nair said, “This advanced version of the PromptTech Connect App demonstrates PromptTech’s commitment to driving innovation and helping businesses enhance operational efficiency through AI-driven solutions.”
Mr. Aby Abraham, Founder and Executive Director of PromptTech Global, said the updated app delivers enhanced customer support systems, enterprise solutions, and digital tools tailored to meet the dynamic needs of SMEs across various sectors.
All the three IT Parks (Technopark, Infopark & Cyberpark) along with GTECH supported the cause of showcasing IT/ITES companies of the Kerala IT ecosystem at GITEX Dubai.
