Kerala startup ecosystem shows prowess at GITEX North Star expo at Dubai
27 KSUM-groomed startups attend the global show

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 14: Exploring business and investment opportunities by showcasing innovative products, technology skills, and sustainable ideas on the global stage, as many as 27 startups supported by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) are taking part in Expand North Star expo, a staple event of the five-day GITEX Global 2024, which commenced in Dubai World Trade Centre today.
The 44th edition of GITEX Global is the world’s largest, most inclusive tech and startup event that brings together the world’s most innovative enterprises and best minds to elevate business, economy, society, and culture.
The four-day Expand North Star, which began on October 13, is being held in 6th hall at Dubai Harbour. KSUM pavilion is adjacent to Dubai Chamber and Hub 71.
Expand North Star is the world’s largest startup and investment show hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. Over 1,800 startups and 1,200 investors representing more than 100 countries are attending the expo.
KSUM CEO Shri Anoop Ambika said the expo provides a dynamic platform for startups from the state to connect with potential investors and showcase their innovative products and solutions.
According to him, the event will pave the way for bagging business and investment opportunities for startups, besides finding ways to scale up their business.
Shri Anoop added that apart from displaying their products and solutions, the KSUM delegation will also explore greater expansion and investor-connect to the Middle East, especially in Dubai where KSUM has a Startup Infinity Centre.
The line-up of KSUM startups at the expo include SurveySparrow, Codilar, DreamLoop AI, XR Horizon, FlowFlex, RoadMate, Eduport, Expressbase, Zerowatt, Travidux Technologies, PappyJoe, BillionLives, SaaSOrder, UpBuff Technologies, Roomindo, Elance Learning, Otohom Automations, Fintechism, Studyjam, Contato, Codesap Technologies, Live To Smile, Venttup, DoctorAssist.AI, Arkellis, Xplor, Xboson AI, and STEM-Xpert.
Among the contingents, three startups will be vying for honours in the Supernova Challenge of the event where they will pitch their products to the global investor community. Those startups are Roomindo, RoadMate, and DreamLoop AI.
The Indian Embassy in UAE has taken a proactive interest to facilitate the Kerala startups through multiple side events. The fund of fund partners of KSUM-- Unicorn India Ventures and Sea Fund-- visited the pavilion and enabled one-to-one interaction with startups. KSUM’s Startup Infinity partner in Dubai and Onetreprenuer, which is the stakeholder of the ecosystem, are giving full-fledged support to the state delegation.
KSUM has been participating in GITEX for last eight years and it has become a platform for Kerala startups to unveil their products and solutions before the global community.
KSUM is the nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
