Teal and blue are the colours of football-crazy Kozhikode

Kozhikode, Aug. 11: Calicut FC, one of the six teams in the recently launched Super League Kerala (SLK), will wear teal and blue jersey on its home ground.
On Saturday, the team's internationally renowned head coach, Ian Andrew Gillan, unveiled its jerseys at a gala function attended by hundreds of fans.
The team’s home jersey is teal and blue, while the players wear yellow for away matches and pink and lavender for practices. The third jersey is white.
The ceremony was attended by Biby Thomas Muttath, the assistant coach, Bino Jose Eapen, the franchise’s secretary, and players PV Arjun, Manoj Markose, Jijo Joseph, Abdul Hakku, M Salim, and Thahir Zaman.
The event was the curtain raiser for Calicut FC's mega team launch on the Calicut beach on August 25.
The 150-minute launch function at the Hilite Mall included cultural events, a music band, lucky dips, interactive contests with attractive prizes, and digital projections.
The team’s home ground is Kozhikode Corporation Stadium, where they will play five home matches. The away matches will be played in the cities of the other teams.
Kozhikode’s football team will have 25 players, including six overseas players, nine national players, and the rest from Kerala.
The SLK will kick off on September 7 with the inaugural function at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi.
